Delivery

1. What do you charge for delivery?

Delivery charges for online sales

Within Cornwall:

  • All orders within 5 miles of the shop are free
  • All deliveries further than 5 miles over £400 are free, £20 under £400
  • White-glove delivery service is standard: delivery to the room of your choice, free assembly, removal of all packaging

Devon and beyond:

  • Most out-of-County deliveries are by courier, who will deliver to your door
  • Charges vary according to size of order and locality.  Please ring to enquire as to cost – the maximum is usually £90, except for Kent.
  • We cannot offer assembly or removal of packaging if a courier is used.

Mattresses can be delivered outside Cornwall for most areas south of Birmingham (excluding Kent).  The charge is £35, and the driver will require assistance with manoeuvring the mattress.

Separate arrangements will be made for items bought in store.

 

2. Do you assemble the furniture I buy? And what about the packaging?

If delivery is by our expert two-man team, in Cornwall, then all goods, including bedframes, are assembled free of charge, and will be placed where you need them.  We will also take away and recycle (where possible) the packaging.

Outside Cornwall, goods are normally delivered by courier.  They will deliver to the front door, and may require assistance.  Assembly and packaging-removal are not offered on these orders.

 

3. Can you take away my old mattress?  And what about the furniture I'm replacing?

Because we understand that a mattress is a cumbersome thing to move, we will happily remove mattresses for recycling, for a small charge to cover what we are charged for the recycling. We are also happy to take your old furniture to the Truro British Heart Foundation store (on a like-for-like basis), subject to you arranging this.

Within Cornwall only

4. What delivery slots can you offer?

We normally deliver on a Tuesday and a Thursday, and will offer you morning or afternoon slots.  For local deliveries we can offer a 5pm delivery, or a Saturday morning slot, by arrangement, and other times and days can be arranged if necessary.  When using couriers, their delivery schedules may be different.

 

5. How long does it take for my furniture to arrive?

If your furniture is being made for you at a manufacturer’s factory, it can take approximately six weeks, but each order is different.  Please call, so we can advise.  All goods in the showroom, or in our warehouse, are available immediately.

For goods bought in person from the showroom, same-day delivery can often be offered, depending on the availability of men and vans! 

 

6. I don’t need my new furniture right away, can you store it for me?

Certainly.  We can store furniture for up to one month free of charge.  Storage for longer than a month is by arrangement, and subject to a charge of 10% of the value of the item, per month.  All stored goods must be paid for in full.

 

7. I am furnishing a house from scratch, and need things right away, can you suggest anything?

We’re happy to help you out if you find yourself in this situation - within Cornwall we can loan furniture until the items you have ordered come in.  We will simply collect them when delivering your new goods.  There is no additional charge for this.  All furniture within the showroom is available immediately.

 

8. How do I pay for my furniture?

If ordering online, we take payment in full at time of order.

If ordering in store, we usually ask for 20% deposit, and then the full balance on delivery.  You can pay our delivery team with credit or debit card, cheque or cash – card payments can be run through while our delivery team is with you.

Full payment must be made for bespoke orders, and any items you wish us to store for you.
